Trek Overview

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a challenging and spectacular trekking route that circles around Mount Manaslu (8,163m), the world's eighth-highest peak. Unlike the busier Everest and Annapurna trails, this circuit offers an off-the-beaten-path Himalayan experience with rich Tibetan-influenced culture, dramatic landscapes, high-mountain passes, and remote villages.

The trek crosses through the Manaslu Conservation Area and culminates with the crossing of Larkya La Pass (5,106m–5,135m), offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.

Duration: 13–16 days trekking, plus transit days.

Distance: Approx. 177–180km total.

Difficulty: Physically demanding; suitable for fit trekkers with altitude experience.

Accommodation: Teahouses, guesthouses, and some camping in remote areas.

Best Seasons: March–June (spring), and September–November (autumn) for clear skies, stable weather, and blooming rhododendrons.

Trek Difficulty & Considerations

Physical Demands: Multiday trek with daily hikes of 15–20km, 5–8 hours per day, and some long, steep ascents and descents.

Altitude Acclimatization: Includes rest/acclimatization days to adjust to high elevations and reduce risks of altitude sickness.

Trail Conditions: Narrow, often rocky paths, high passes, river crossings, and sometimes landslides. Suspension bridges are prominent.
